I lead Lani down the sidewalk toward the Mexican restaurant we have reservations at. They are part eatery and part nightclub. After we eat, I’m hoping I can talk her into doing some dancing with me. The music from the restaurant can be heard as we approach. “Is this okay?” I ask grabbing her hand and lacing our fingers together.
“Yeah, this is great.” She smiles up at me. Fuck, she’s beautiful. All day long I had to fight getting hard. In her bikini, she was so fucking sexy and that kiss in the water was one of the best I ever had. The dress she’s wearing hugs her body like it was made specifically for her. Her skin is a golden tan and I’m dying to lick and kiss every inch of her. Shit, Lani turns me into a sex maniac and she doesn’t even realize it.
We step up to the hostess stand and once I give her my name, I wrap my arm around Lani’s waist and we follow the hostess to a table in the corner, giving us a prime view of the dance floor. The music playing through the speakers has Lani swaying side to side.
Our waitress brings us chips and salsa and we order a pitcher of their famous blood orange margaritas. The glasses are rimmed with Tajin—it doesn’t sound like it would be good, but Lani moans when she takes her first sip.
I take a drink of mine and I can definitely see why she’s moaning. This is so good and surprisingly light and refreshing. I decide right away to order the carne asada street tacos and Lani orders the chicken.
She surprises me grabbing my hand. “Thank you for this wonderful trip. Sophie and I have had such an amazing time.”
I bring her hand up to my mouth. “I’m so glad. We’re heading to Orlando tomorrow.” Her eyes widen comically.
“Are we going to Disney World?” Lani whispers, her voice cracking.
I nod. “Three days of fun.” Her eyes turn glassy and then a tear slides down her cheek. “Hey, why the tears?”
Lani shakes her head. “I’m just so happy and I know Sophie’s going to freak out. She loves Moana and Rapunzel.”
I pull her toward me, cup her cheek, and kiss her lips softly. I rest my forehead against hers. “I want to send you back to Iowa with lots of fun memories.” My voice cracks as I say it because how the fuck am I supposed to watch them leave? I push those thoughts away. I don’t need anything to mar our night.
Our waiter brings our food and conversation halts while we eat. We drink the whole pitcher by the time we’re done with our food. The dance floor is filling up fast and I’m looking forward to getting her out there with me.
As soon as our plates are cleared I order us each another margarita. When the waiter drops them off, I ask for the check. “Are you ready to do some dancing?”
She sucks down her drink while nodding.
